How does someone update a blog that hasn’t been updated in two months?I know, with an explosion of pictures of course!

Prior to this entry, I must have drafted out at least three posts that never got published. It’s not that I am fickle, but I am quite sure it is because life here is just not that interesting.
Yea sure, I have visited the great wall and the temple of heaven, I even saw big mao at the forbidden city but...its just not interesting. I have never been a sightseeing kind of person so maybe these things just don’t fall under my “exciting-things-to-blog-about list”. But then again, what falls under this list. I have no idea either.
However, I must say that those two weeks that I spent visiting all those tourist-y places that I mention earlier, were just memorable. It wasn’t those places that made it special though; it was just so much more. I would have to admit that the temple of heaven and the great wall were quite breath taking.
For the sake having something to read in a few years down the road, I will do myself a favour and revisit some of the things that have happened here in china over these two months.
FIRST UP. My room!

I would have agree that it was quite terrible when I first saw it -- Sad, not white, not blue lights, the horrible positioning of the furniture and when I say furniture I mean my bed andd.. yar my bed, Nothing else. If you have me on facebook you would have probably seen the current state of my room. It is in a more liveable condition now. With a new lamp from ikea, which trumps my sad lights anytime, and a wardrobe area, I must say I am quite pleased with it. I even got new sheets! The ones that came with the apartment were ill fitting and just disgusting.
Beijing has a severe pollution problem and it is causing the apartment to suffer form acute dust accumulation. It’s so bad that I think if I were to lie still for a day or more, dust will just settle on me. Haha. With all the washing and cleaning, it is almost impossible to maintain a manicure here. Speaking of manicures, nail services here are CHEAPPPPP! A standard mani here is like 20 yuan which is like 4 sing. It’s insane! Haha. However, they do try to cheat you at any possible chanced that you are not alert. Like how they like to charge you an extra 10 yuan (2 sing) for OPI polish.
I absolutely love how acrylics are cheap here though. I can get an acrylic French for less than 20 sing. Amazing eh? I have been giving my nails a breather for 2 weeks now and I think I will be getting a new set of acrylics this weekend or something. Although I know that my nails will probably never forgive me for doing this to them but i really don't care. I just hope that i will still have real nails by the time i get back. haha.
My acrylic journey so far,

Besides the cheap manicures, taxis are really affordable too. None of my colleagues take the bus or train here. If you are going to squeeze with all the china men risk yourself getting groped why not take the taxi. Besides, there is an abundance of them here, unlikely ahem, Singapore.
Shopping is average here. The clothes are not that fantastic and the constant haggling just gets tiresome. They stupid shop keeps quote a crazy price that just makes you want to slap them. Haha. I am proud to say that till now I have limited myself to very little shopping. I have only gotten one pair of flats and super cheap boots man -- So proud of myself. Sigh.
It took about a month plus for me to finally get use to the fact that I am living in china. It’s just so weird, so Chinese. I speak Chinese almost 80% of the day and if you know me personally you would know that my Chinese is just wrong. I pity those people that need to deal with me . haha. With my standard of mandarin I have no idea why my company constantly wants me to do translation work. It takes up a lot of time because I take about 15 mins to translate a sentence and imagine if I need to do up a proposal. eeee-yer.
Okay the thought of work just makes me sad. We aren’t that busy with the official Olympic work yet so my boss decided that it would be wise to “sell” us to the main office to be “little mei meis” that do everything. So now, I am officially their little translator. I hate translation work. Blah!
I really hope that things at work will really start to pick up. I need to be busy with things so that I will stop thinking about the 3 month that are left here. There is a whole load of missing going on and there are nights that I really just want to go home. I tried keeping myself occupied with shows but gossip girl is over and I can’t seem to download grey’s.
Besides all these things that have been going on, I really hope that these 3 months will just fly pass.
我真的很想回家 。。。

This will be my last official post before I leave. Considering that blogger/livejournal/diaryland/xanga and other blogging platforms are banned in china I don't see myself blogging for another five months at least.Oh well its not like I update alot anyway haha. I really do hope facebook works though. That way I will be able to share photos with family and friends and also catch up with other people's lives when I am away from home.
Mannn... I am going to miss blog hopping! Berenice remember what you said? That you will screenshot everything and send to me? heh heh heh. I am sooooo going to miss tv too! Well I know local television sucks here but at least there are someee interesting shows what.
I will probably buy like loads and loads of dvds to entertain myself when I am over there.
Okay before I continue on about my pre-trip plans here are the long awaited "updates" that I have been meaning to post for ages. Lets say that I didn't have enough time : ) or rather I was just too damn lazy.
Going back as far as my memory can take me it will probably be..
LUCAS' FIRST BIRTHDAY!

This was early january..
I remember.. rushing my article for feature and I also remember rushing down to raffles city on the day of the party to get my little nephew many many balloons. I got an elmo head balloon for him too. Haha, he loves elmo like how I love my bed. It was a rather long day and I was pooped by the time people started leaving. If I am not wrong my brother left for the US the next morning.
Now that i am leaving for 5 months straight, i have this feeling that lucas' will just forget me. sigh. he won't crawl up to my bed and scream "YI! YI! YI! YI!" anymore. He will be one and half years old by the time i get back! super-sigh.
The next most significant thing that pops into my head would be the chinese new year. A tad bit late for a cny entry but at least I'm making an effort.. If you are my friend on facebook, you would have seen most of these pictures already. But if you are not then just take a look now.

It really didn't feel like cny this year. Somehow I think it was because i didn't get to take my own sweet time shopping for new clothes. I didn't bake anything this year either. No pineapple tarts, no kueh bangkits, no crumbles. NOTHING. i didn't even make the agar agar. Now this cannot be blamed on my laziness because there simply wasn't enough time!
I only managed to get away from school work on new year's eve to go out and shop with berenice. It was quite stressful having to find something to wear within 4 hours. Plus the both of us had to be home early that evening for our family reunion dinners. Amazingly, I managed to find a decent enough dress. It was fuchsia and i'd to think that i'm brrrrrilliant XD
So the three days went past really quickly and before I knew it, it was already time for the exams. BLAHHH. Advertising and media research papers are so not fun to study for at all.
dum dee dee, after a few terrible weeks of studying the holidays finally came!
and after being lazy for a month or so, I am finally updating.
I haven't done anything much in the past month though. Well basically, I just slept alot and ate alot and spent alot and did alot of other things that I shouldn't have done..
I worked way too hard this semester for a break this short. I cannot believe it's almost over and my attachment will begin in like about a week's time. It was supposed to begin like last week but because the company wants us till the end of august we are starting later too. oh well.
It's time to wake up. No more waking up at three in the afternoon and no more day dreaming.
I would say that I had fun this holiday. With new beginnings and so on, its like i am somehow starting to feel again?
blah i am talking rubbish.
moving on,
berenice and nicholas, I won't forget our supercool night. Haha.
You guys are such "red" people. I was laughing while editing the pictures..

Dancing in heels is super good exercise. I know because I couldn't walk the next day and all berenice did was to sit on her bed and laugh at me as I waddled around. So funny huh. All in all it was a night well spent XD
Alright, now i can finally check blogging off the list of things that I need to do before I leave.
I have so many things to do before I leave and there isn't enough time.. HOW?
I guess I will just have to make it work.
Sigh.
Incase I don't come back for another emo entry before I leave for chinaland,
I will miss all those people who miss me.
that includes you, you and you!
supermuacks.
